Learn to Read

Our Learn to Read course is designed to guide young learners through the exciting journey of becoming confident and proficient readers. Using a structured, synthetic phonics approach, we help children build essential early reading skills step by step, ensuring a strong foundation for future academic success.

Letter and sound recognition
We begin by introducing children to the alphabet, focusing on recognising letters and understanding their corresponding sounds. Through fun and interactive activities, students learn to differentiate between individual phonemes, developing an awareness of the sounds that make up words.
Blending and segmenting
As children gain familiarity with letter sounds, they will begin to blend sounds together to form words, and segment words into individual sounds. These skills are essential for decoding unfamiliar words and building reading fluency.
Levelled books
Throughout the course, students will progress through carefully selected levelled reading books. These books are designed to match their current reading ability, gradually introducing more complex sounds, words, and sentence structures as their confidence and skills grow.
This course is perfect for early readers, providing a structured, supportive environment that encourages a love of reading while fostering key literacy skills. By the end of the course, children will not only have mastered phonics but will also be able to read age-appropriate texts with confidence and comprehension.
